The Future Digital Fan Experience
With a broad range of fans, from casual to avid, this entertainment company seeks to cater experiences that suit all of their needs across multiple touchpoints. This phase was specifically focused on digital properties and how they could be enhanced through look and interaction while creating more engaging experiences that elevate the brand as the true “Home of Football”
UNDERSTANDING THE USERS
We interviewed 19 fans in 5 different locations to understand the digital fan, their behaviors, preferences and pathways to uncover ways the brand might influence or build on motivations in those areas. We took what we learnt in research to develop experience principles that drove our design decisions.
BE THE FRONT DOOR FOR FOOTBALL
Fans don’t solely rely on this entertainment company for their football news. They have a wide variety of sources that they use with writers and commentators they trust. To solve this, we looked to unite the disparate resources fans rely on and surface relevant content in the personalized manner they expect.
The front door is a personalized homepage that serves as a dashboard displaying content the user wants from the sources they trust.
The user will be presented with personalized content from their trusted football sources within their homepage without having to jump from to another webpage to get informed.
PROVIDE THE BEST-IN-CLASS EXPERIENCE
We encouraged the client to play an active role in catering the live game-watching experience by helping fans stay on top of the action in the way that means the most to them. To do this, we designed multiple mobile viewing experiences that adapt to any device while providing new and insightful ways to enjoy the game.
BE THE POINT OF CONNECTION
Making use of game downtime and social environments, we were able to unite the fans, the games, and the brands they love by creating compelling and engaging experiences that drive the fans back to the one single source.
